EMANS ASSOCIATION REUNITES IN BALIWAG BULACAN
The Epsilon Mu Alpha Association, Inc. (EMAA) held its second reunion at Ar-J’s Event Place and Private Resort in Baliwag, Bulacan, last June 22, 2024.
New in-person attendees included Brods Felix Bagas, Glen Duka, Michael Lazo, Jose Dennis Gonzales, Roberto Roberto, John Lemuel Aquisay, Michael Ang, and Sis Cherry Cuarto D’Souza; as well as Clarissa Villanueva.
Amid the sweltering heat, the program began with an opening prayer led by Brod Nyong Lazo, followed by a safety and security briefing about the venue by the administrator. Brod Jimmy gave the welcome remarks. This was followed by an ice-breaking session where attendees introduced themselves, sharing their professional experiences, current affiliations, and unforgettable experiences and ordeals from their college days and as members of EMANS. A photo shoot followed to document the gathering.
The host served a mouth-watering lunch featuring lechon, lumpiang Shanghai, chicken roll, beef broccoli lengua, and a dessert assortment of various native kakanin.
Larry Bayrante updated the members on the ongoing 2024 plans and programs. Among the major programs are the annual general assembly meeting, the nomination and election of the board of trustees, and the Mapua Centennial celebration in January 2025.
In the early evening, Brod Jimmy presented via Zoom, a talk co-authored with Brod Vids Gotera, titled “Philippine Mineral Reporting Code, 2020.” The Philippine Mineral Reporting Code (PMRC) sets out the minimum standards, recommendations, and guidelines for Public Reporting in the Philippines of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources, and Ore Reserves as required for all listed mining and mineral exploration companies in the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) or when applying for listing with the PSE. A brief question-and-answer session followed the presentation.
Surprise singing and dancing interspersed the gathering, made lively by the dynamic group composed of Sol, Bhong, and Daisy.
Brod Nyong performed the 1981 ballad “Endless Love” as a surprise duet number with Sol, while Brod Oliver Astadan sang his all-time classic “Skyline Pigeon.” The group of Brods Ronnie Manansala, Roberto Roberto, Renin Belo, and Oliver Astadan also belted out “Tears in Heaven” by Eric Clapton, while Brod Noel Lucas jammed with the band. Later in the gathering, Brod Frank (Tebs) rendered “Salamat” by The Dawn, and Sis Tating belted out “Bridges” (Travessia) by Sergio Mendes.
Our gratitude goes out to Brods Former Usec Mackoy Marcos and our “upper classmen” Mike Lazo, Jojo Saret, Jess Gutierrez, and Al Diaz for their continuous support.

Last but not the least, special thanks to Brods Ronnie Manansala for the free t-shirts and to Brod Rolly Villamorel for painstakingly executing the final design of the memento.
The event was another noteworthy gathering for the association.
